<p>The projected climate change will likely impose landslide in several regions in Indonesia. Currently, landslides frequently hit Indonesia causing loss of life and property. For example, in the period of 2003-2005 Indonesia suffered from 103 landslides across seven provinces with a huge amount of loss. Landslides must be taken into account in any comprehensive water related study, considering that water is often a trigger in landslide occurrences. There are at least 918 landslide zone, with Central Java having the most landslide zone (327 location), West Java (276 locations), West Sumatera (100 locations). This paper identifies several high risk regions throughout Indonesia based on the national level of climate risk study. Based on 30 year climate projection, North Sumatera area has increasing of landslide risk especially in September. Otherwise in Java-Bali, the increasing of landslide is in December, January and February, wherein it could be evaluated that in February due to rainfall accumulation. In Sulawesi, especially in North Sulawesi, the increasing of rainfall is in September, otherwise in Middle Sulawesi is in December which is not significant increase and reversal in another month. In the other hand, in Papua has high increasing rainfall especially in January. This paper concludes with some possible actions to adapt to the impacts of climate change to landslide.</p>

<p><em>Abstract<br />
Palembang yang merupakan kota sungai karena banyak dialiri anak-anak  sungai yang bermuara ke sungai Musi yang membelah kota Palembang perlu  mengantisipasi dampak – dampak perubahan iklim. Menurut Arief Anshory  Yusuf dan Herminia Francisco (2009), kota Palembang menduduki peringkat  ke 16 dari tempat (distrik) paling rentan terhadap perubahan iklim di  Asia Tenggara. Berdasarkan laporan IPCC dampak perubahan iklim pada  daerah pesisir pantai / sungai yang mempunyai resiko paling tinggi  adalah badai tropis, banjir dan meningkatnya muka air laut. Menurut  CSIRO (2007), jenis infrastruktur yang memiliki resiko paling tinggi  terhadap dampak perubahan iklim adalah infrastruktur gedung atau  bangunan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah pengembangan dari kajian  kerentanan tingkat meso – level (regional/propinsi) dan memberikan  informasi tingkat kerentanan infrastruktur gedung sekolah SMPN/SMAN/SMKN  terhadap dampak perubahan iklim di kota Palembang. Bagian paling utama  untuk menentukan tingkat kerentanan adalah indeks kerentanan  infrastruktur (IVI). Indeks kerentanan infrastruktur ditentukan  berdasarkan indikator – indikator kerentanan infrastruktur gedung  seperti jumlah pengguna gedung (murid, guru dan pegawai), luas gedung,  jarak gedung dari sungai dan infrastruktur drainase. Tingkat kerentanan  infrastruktur diklasifikasikan berdasarkan 3 level yaitu rendah (low),  sedang (moderate), dan tinggi (high). Analisa akhir pada kajian  kerentanan adalah analisa resiko dengan melakukan overlay antara bahaya  (banjir dan kenaikan muka air laut) dan tingkat kerentanan infrastruktur  gedung. Analisa yang dilakukan secara kualitatif menggunakan aplikasi  ILWIS. Penelitian ini menghasilkan tingkat kerentanan infrastruktur  gedung pada kondisi sekarang (current) dan proyeksi yang akan datang  (future), yang divisualkan dalam peta kerentanan dan resiko kota  Palembang.</p>

<p>Abstract<br />
The water sector is one of the most important sectors to be influenced by climate change impacts. The projected climate change will likely impose water shortage in several regions in Indonesia. Currently, for an example, the Java-Bali regions have already faced a deficit in its water balance, while for other regions like Sumatra, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, and the Moluccas are projected in critical conditions. Based on climate projections, most regions in Indonesia will suffer from a gradual decrease of water supply due to temperature increase and rainfall changes that will affect the water balance. Combined with estimated population growth rates, increased water demand will cause severe water shortages to occur, especially in Java and Sumatra for the period of 2020-2030. This paper identifies several high risk regions throughout Indonesia based on the national level of climate risk study. It is found that areas which possess high risk on water shortage stretch in some parts of the Java-Bali region, especially in a few locations in the northern and southern of West Java, middle and southern of Central Java and East Java; as well as in the capital of the North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Bengkulu and Lampung (Sumatra), Nusa Tenggara Barat and South Sulawesi. This paper concludes with some possible actions to adapt to the impacts of climate change to water shortage.</p>

<p>The majority of regions in Indonesia are considered to be vulnerable to potential impact of climate change, due to its geographical and socio-economic circumtance. In order to prioritize, design and implement intervention to adapt to climate change, it is essential to adopt a coherent set of approach, framework and method for examining vulnerability and adaptive capacity. To effectively formulate adaptation strategy at the region (kabupaten-kota) level, it is proposed to apply ”micro level-multi sectoral approach” which means assessing vulnerability at the micro-level but considering the multi sectoral impacts of climate change i.e. water and ocean sectoral. This study is present a framework and conceptual model to develop urban infrastructure vulnerability index.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Penduduk dunia mencapai 6,8 miliar, naik dua kali dari tahun 1960-an atau naik  empat kali dibandingkan abad lalu. Kenaikan ini akibat kemajuan di bidang  kesehatan yang menaikan tingkat harapan hidup dan tingkat kesuburan yang tidak  mengalami penurunan yang berarti. Akibatnya banyak tempat yang semakin padat di  satu sisi &#8211; khususnya di kawasan dan menjadi jarang bahkan kosong di sisi  lainnya. Populasi terus bertambah diperkirakan 200 ribu jiwa per hari.<span id="more-660"></span></p>
<p>Gambaran pertumbuhan penduduk menunjukkan hal yang tidak seimbang antara  utara (dengan tingkat kematian rendah dan tingkat kelahiran lebih rendah) dengan  selatan. Negara-negara maju memiliki populasi yang relatif stabil, memberikan  tantangan generasi berikutnya yang lebih sedikit, berjuang untuk merawat dan  menunjang orang tua mereka. Berkebalikan dengan negara-negara di Afrika  misalnya, yang memiliki pertumbuhan populasi tinggi turut menyumbang terjadinya  kelaparan, penurunan kualitas lingkungan, kestabilan politik dan perang.</p>
<p>Proyeksi perubahan iklim diperkirakan akan memperburuk kekeringan di  daerah yang sudah gersang, dan memacu curah hujan ekstrim serta banjir. Yang  paling dikhawatirkan adalah fakta bahwa peningkatan permukaan laut dapat menyapu  rumah dan lahan pertanian milik jutaan orang yang berada di kawasan pesisir.  Perubahan degradasi lingkungan dan perubahan iklim ini diperkirakan akan memaksa  terjadinya perpindahan penduduk dalam skala masif.</p>
<p>Kondisi Indonesia  yang merupakan negara kepulauan dengan penduduk padat yang tersebar di kawasan  pesisir sepertinya akan melahirkan pengungsi lingkungan dalam jumlah besar pada  tahun-tahun mendatang, mengingat lebih tingginya frekuensi banjir dan  meningkatnya serangan badai (dampak tidak langsung badai adalah kenaikan pasang  ekstrim).</p>
<p>Proyeksi pada tahun 2010 akibat bencana ini, di dunia akan  terjadi pemaksaan sekitar 50 juta jiwa pindah, mengatur kembali kehidupan dan  menetap di wilayah lain dalam negara mereka atau negara lain. Jumlah ini akan  meningkat empat kali lipat pada tahun 2050.</p>
<p>So &#8230;.. migrasi atau  adaptasi dengan kondisi lingkungan baru adalah sebuah PILIHAN !?</p>

<p>ABSTRACT: Since on soft soil, large settlement might be occur under loaded foundation without actual shear failure occurring, the soil profile based on soil investigation in soft soil areas e.g. Palembang is become important. Among the different in situ tests, sondir is a simple, quick, and economical test that provides reliable in situ continuous soundings of subsurface soil. In Indonesia, sondir is considered the most frequently used method for characterization of geomedia. This research focused on site characterization of soil properties based on sondir data. This procedure is very important due to management data of soil field test is still conventional and unstructured.</p>

<p>ABSTRACT</p>
<p>Tailing is one of waste that’s produced by mining activity at PT. Freepot Indonesia (PT FI) and it also called as sirsat, which is the representing abbreviation from sand in mining. This Sirsat is placed at ModADA ( Modified Ajkwa Deposition Area), that’s an area which is modified  and managed operation of sirsat and, broadly about 235 kilometres, also separated by West Levee and East Levee. The System that is used by exploit the river stream to conduct the tailing from mountain area to the sediment area in ModADA.<br />
The river flow consists the result of material erosion that is correlated with the friction factor, velocity of sedimentation and geometric configuration that is assumed as bedriver morphology. Grain size is one of the factor that influence the bedriver morphology that is used as the parameter in this research. The measurement and gathering of grain size sirsat that have been conducted since 1997 until now and in the same time, The Parameter analysed by using statistical approach such as mean, variance and standard deviation. Estimation of the bedriver morphology is conducted by using the analysis of characteristic channel form based on D50 of grain size. The result of estimation the bed river morphology can be used to predict sedimentation pattern of  the river flow in Ajkwa Lowland, Timika, Papua.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Secara pertama kali datang di Palo Alto Train Station, dari info yang didapat ada free shuttle Marguite ke dalam kampus Stanford University. Dilihat-lihat ternyata ada beberapa rute &#8230; Info dari supir taksi waktu menuju hotel, lebih tepat disebut kota Stanford saking luasnya. Dan lihat dari rute ternyata kayaknya iya juga tuh &#8230;</p>
<p>Begitu naek free shuttle, petunjuk dari guideline book, yang terdekat adalah Line B Clockwise ke arah Alumni Center tempat IAMG 2009 Conference. Yang rada heran adalah penumpangnya, kok tampangnya tidak semua mahasiswa, ada nenek-nenek malah ada anak-anak. Secara kebetulan, ketemu visiting fellow orang Indonesia, yang baru 3 minggu di Stanford, makasih pak telah menunjukkan jalan &#8230;</p>
<p>Sampe jam 3 sore jadwal lumayan padat, setelah itu ada kesempatan buat jalan dan secara kebetulan ketemu Pak Nur Heriawan dari ITB (sudah lama mengenal nama tapi baru ketemu), so keliling kampus dengan beliau yang kebetulan tinggal di guest house-nya Stanford yang ternyata letaknya di belakang kampus, kalo dilihat dari Stasiun Palo Alto, tetapi ternyata dekat juga ke jalan besar lainnya. Kalo di kampus Jepang, guest house rata-rata diletakkan di main entrance, kalo di unsri adanya di kampus bukit &#8230; jauh ke kampus baru .. <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p>Tiap naek free shuttle bus, selalu ketemu orang tua atau anak kecil. Dan pertanyaan terjawab ketika nanya ke Thuy Nguyen, bahwa mereka memang datang ke kampus untuk wisata. Alamak &#8230; satu satu paket wisata di Palo Alto City adalah Stanford Univeristy, yang memang asri banget.</p>
<p>Jika kita datang ke kampus-kampus di Jepang, maka begitu tiba di halte bis dalam kampus, seluruh gedung dapat dicapai dengan jalan kaki. Di Stanford, jangan harap &#8230; mungkin perlu waktu 3 hari untuk mengitari seluruh kampus dengan jalan kaki.</p>
<p>Di bagian depan di salah satu sisinya ada Stanford Shopping Center, konsepnya seperti Parisj Van Java Mall di Bandung, PTC terlalu kecil soalnya kali buat dijadikan perbandingan, jadi ingat Bank BNI yang di depan kampus Unsri Indralaya, kenapa ndak sekalian sama Unsri Shopping Center, diletakkan di jalan arah Indralaya, jadi deketan juga ke asrama mahasiswa.</p>
<p>Ada Palem Avenue yang mengarah ke gedung utama &#8211; Jordan Hall, yang mengingatkan pada jalan Pasteur dulu sebelum ada Paspati, dimana kiri-kanan jalannya ditanami pohon palem (ya iya lah kalo korma avenue telum pohon korma).</p>
<p>Jarak antar bangunan cukup jauh, kelihatannya masih menggunakan konsep rural campus sama seperti kampus unsri yang juga berjauhan, dan berbeda dengan kampus-kampus di Jepang yang berkonsep urban campus. Sayang bedanya di unsri belum ada shuttle bus.</p>
<p>Yang menarik lagi, di beberapa bus ada tempat buat menyimpan sepeda di bagian depannya. Jadi kemana-mana bisa naek sepeda dan bila cape, tinggal ganti naek bus dan letakan sepeda di depan bus tersebut.</p>
<p>Hampir seluruh gedung ada namanya, dan kelihatannya dibangun oleh para alumninya, seperti Mitchel Building, Jordan Hall, dan lainnya. Nampaknya ITB telah menggunakan konsep ini juga, masukan yang berarti buat masa depan Unsri &#8230;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Guru ratu wong atua karo &#8230;</p>
<p>Guru juga yang mewarnai kehidupan ini di kehidupan ilmiah saya sekarang dan masa mendatang. Dengan tanpa hormat pada semua guru yang telah membekali dengan segenap ilmunya, guru berikut adalah yang mewarnai denyut nadi ilmiah saya hingga hari ini.</p>
<p>Tatkala dunia komputasi mulai dikenal, adalah almarhum Dr Lesmana Polo yang mengenalkan menggunakan komputer dalam dunia riset. Sebagai penggemar game digger dan tetris waktu itu, bahasa program BASIC telah mengalahkan semuanya. Tiada hari tanpa BASIC, hari belum lengkap jika belum menyentuh dan menggunakan BASIC. Takdir berkata lain, beliau meninggalkan kami semua sebelum seluruh ajarannya diberikan &#8230;</p>
<p>Tatkala kuliah dipenuhi dengan rutinas matematik numerik dan hapalan yang berkepanjangan, adalah almarhum Dr Supriyo Ambar memberikan warna dengan statisiknya. Nalar berjalan mengikuti ketidakteraturan dan diungkap serta diterjemahkan lewat bahasa angka yang simpel dan mudah dipahami. LIKELIHOOD adalah hal yang begitu mengagumkan saat itu, perilaku bumi bukan untuk ditaklukan tapi bumi untuk difahami, hiduplah bersama alam &#8230;</p>
<p>Tatkala harus memilih di akhir adalah almarhum Dr N Prawoto menjadi pilihan. Abah biasa kami panggil, begitu keras mendidik kami, mengajarkan kami kehati-hatian dengan ilmu yang kami miliki, menurunkan kami kepedulian akan sesama, memberikan kami nafas cinta akan ilmu dan mengasihi kami dengan profesionalitasnya. Abah juga yang memberikan saya untuk terus menelurkan ide dan ilmu, sewaktu kebimbangan memilih URGE dan DUE-Karyasiswa sebagai sumber beasiswa.</p>
<p>&#8220;Abah khawatir lewat URGE ide dan ilmumu akan hanya terkotak untuk mencari dunia, Abah yakin lewat DUE itulah ide dan ilmumu akan jauh lebih bermanfaat. Masih banyak anak negeri yang perlu orang-orang yang mau berkorban untuk bangsanya, jadi GENERAL di negeri kecil yang memakmurkan pasukannya lebih bernilai daripada jadi prajurit di negeri besar&#8221;, pesan terakhir beliau.</p>
<p>Selamat jalan GURU BESARKU &#8230;.</p>
<p>Ijinkan muridmu untuk terus belajar dan belajar, memaknai dan memahami alam lebih dalam, mewarnai dan memberi arti denyut nadi ilmu di masa mendatang&#8230;</p>
